I flush from the heat and jealousy
Of a Refiner’s fire
I step closer, salivating with want

Wishing I were metal
Held at arms length
Melting down the once imperfect
With precision of experience
Thrust upon a heat
So intense that the slag of me
Surfaces
Yearning for disposal

Dipping and holding yet again
Until solid is redefined
Into a more pliable substance
A more flexible essence

Leaving the core of person
Leaving the pure, refined metal
Of spirit, of soul

PK,

Oh my, that sounds unbearable!!

Here's to whatever cool drink you have after work, and the wonderful feeling of A/C blowing in your face!

It's so true we have to go through the fire to be rid of the dross in our life. If we never see adversity, or times that are so hard to endure how will we go to a depth that brings the questions out? So true these words are, and a goal I hope to achieve so I can so much relate to this one. Thanks for sharing these words..It's nice to know I'm not the only one that feels kinda yucky feeling about the things needed to make for a better person. Clear out the dross from life so we are better people in this world! Good cleansing read for me!!!!! Loved it!

Loved your spark Susan~
