The Rose I recall the words of an old sage Long since dead and gone, “Son, life is a bed of roses… Amidst a cluster of thorns.” Pondering these words, I found A message these words disclose The thorns that mar the beauty Are the guardians of the rose. For often a careless hand Will trifle with this gem And find then only agony From this jewel, stem. But those who strive in earnest And let perseverance prevail Find the fruit is sweeter Than that of labor frail. And those who await time’s scythe To strip the roses bare Soon find the rose no longer But fallen petals as their share. |

As the sun goes down Then rises again And a new day is born as sworn So a new rose flourishes on the new morn Kissed by dew, and drenched in rays it nurtures every eye that sees Its beauty sings of Gods praise As his beautiful Earth each day it adorns! Its beauty taken in hand to cure a heart forlorn, As a lover hands to another, and mends a heart that's torn! I loved reading this, and thanks for inspiring me to write. I had lost the feeing I could write at all. :'( But this beautiful write nourished me, too! SharaRose @-->-- Of sound, and speech let all lift the hearer! |
