straining for sunlight, cuttings from an overflowing garden, destiny seals them to their shadow watching life from windowboxes, eyes of topaz fire, proud predators turned to showcats, tied to the bluebloods that feed them, growing fat with faded glory, doll on a shelf, out on furlough, watch her go, will she self-wind or self-destruct when the master's batteries run low? pastel deco ponies, sitting pretty; watch them ride, chasing pipedreams caught in circles, will they grow complacent as the years click, will i? mirror, yes, that makes sense, i guess sue, so sorry, suzieQ.how could i forget you, of all people......but, here goes... i feel for the potted plants, first of all i can't grow them, and i think i just don't like seeing anything confined; like going into petstores and seeing the puppies in cages, it just doesnt sit well with me; i know it sounds crazy; even frogs roam freely [This message has been edited by inkedgoddess (07-20-2003 07:37 AM).] |

No Michele I agree - I hardly have potted plants - and if I do - they are treated well lol and the pet store? No way, instant bad feelings . . . cruelty . . . I want to buy up all the animals and take them home . . . lol - thanks Michele |

Nothing wrong with watching life from the windowbox as long as you dont vegetate. Its nice to take it all in and reflect. Another interesting write. |

Michele, I feel the same way about anything not being able to roam free....whenever they want. Whether it's plants, animals or people. I hate for anything to have to be confined to one area. And the animals in the pet stores really get to me, too. Have you ever just looked into the puppies eyes? they look so sad. Do you know, my little dog cries sometimes, with tears...but he smiles, too. He touches my heart either way. LOL Well, I guess you can tell from all this that your poem touched me, too. Hugs to you lady Ethel |

The images you use in this write brought me the symbol of youth, and it's passionate fire...and the changes that come as the years tick off. I must tell you, second childhoods are by far the most compelling satisfaction in life. Smiling. Really good. TD |
