so many empty threats
so much pain
so much sorrow
i look around
and i see war
i see human remains
ruins of rome’s decline
the spanish steps
the eiffel tower
blood has made the nile red
the yellow sun
burning through the clouds
not even the sun can dry
the blood
the tears
the world
not even the sun
can make the people smile
knives slicing
wrists bleeding
death comes
silence comes
empty threats
empty threats

never leave the light on if you don't want to be found
