How peculiar!
How peculiar it is that so much emotion,
so many feelings, such complex and deep meanings,
can fit within such small words.
How can an emotion
as great and vast and complicated
as love
be summed up in a four small letters?
How can a feeling
as dark and dreadful and raw
as hate
be contained in such a small word.

These basic human emotions and others,
such as pain and care and fear and rage,
so intricate, so elaborate,
so small.
They control our lives.
They make us excited and depressed
and miserable and delighted.
They turn us into fools or jerks.
They can inspire the greatest of accomplishments,
the most evil of deeds,
or they can immobilize us completely.
And yet so small.

For such small words,
their meanings can never be truly described
with words
But we feel them.
We feel their awesome power
drive us onward or pin us down.
Such might in words so short.
And the two we desire most
are the ones with the least amount of guarantee.
Love and life.
So entrancing is their hold on us.
So mightily do they drive us.
So tiny are they to read.
How peculiar...
