Frozen Fruit In The Grand Scheme Of Understanding Life |

I'm sitting here eating frozen grapes, tracking down the wispy threads of cosmic thought, the dreamy revelations, world shattering ideas that broach the walls of my late morning dreams, prisoners of the pillow wars plotting their escape. Frozen grapes are hard, but not so hard they'll break a tooth, sweet, but not so sweet that I'll lose my taste for other food, cold, but some how not so cold as to cause my face to ache, fleeting, for they thaw but for a moment they're life's truth. Oh, I know you'll say it's foolishness, comparing grapes to life, for they're little frozen lumps of fruit that soon will turn to mush, but for those few brief moments, as I pop them in my mouth, I'm startled by their clarity, devoid of ego strife. Each one is an entire world cleansing awareness of the past, a moment's revelation, and even though it never lasts, they're still very much like thoughts that muddy up my sleep with brilliant understandings, flaring brightly fading fast. ©2003 by icebox |

Amazing - simply amazing and all from eating frozen grapes. I'll put that on my list of things to do but it won't make a writer out of me. Sigh! |

"Each one is an entire world cleansing awareness of the past, a moment's revelation, and even though it never lasts, they're still very much like thoughts that muddy up my sleep with brilliant understandings, flaring brightly fading fast." I've never eaten a frozen grape but I've had so many of those thoughts. Your poetry bridges some very eclectic spans Ice and I do so enjoy the way your mind operates. |

My mind is blank right at the moment. Do love frozen grapes though. Guess I'll go have a few. Then maybe I won't be so blank. Thanks for sharing your words of poetry. Bon-Bon |

very much like thoughts that muddy up my sleep with brilliant understandings, flaring brightly fading fast Brilliant words ice, you have a way. Long ago a friend told me I rather than scarf down food whatever it may be. One should pause and actually concenctrate on the food and food alone. Everything tastes better and you come to appreciate things we usually take for granted. That was my little revelation from fruit that applies to all aspects of life. Stop and concentrate or appreciate. |

I love to eat frozen fruit! Did you know there is approximately 1 gram of carbohydrate in one average-sized grape! I do believe you may be a deeper thinker than I am! I just suck on frozen fruit and enjoy the sensations! Luvs 'n hugs! EA |
