Silence Before The Storm

I stand watching as the gentle winds
ripple tender blades of summer grass
Flowing like waves upon quiet sea
in endless rhythm cross the prairie

Overcast sky paints only whiteness
broken by dark lines at the edge
Nature betrays the coming weather
a growing silence before the storm

Boiling black clouds advancing closer
sending before them a raising wind
Racing faster they build momentum
tumbling across endless western sky

With my hair whipping around my face
I lift eyes to the darkening sky
A jagged flash that lit the heavens
touched deep within me a cord of awe

As the thunder roared and lightning flashed
I stood amazed by total power
Just minutes before the air stood still
a whispered silence before the storm

Startime

Your words have the ability to take the reader right there.  I could feel the wind in my hair and could hear the sound of distant thunder.  I hope all is well with you.

Take care......Sue

Thank you, so much, Sue...It was such a incredible storm that I had to try and take others with me....All is well with me as I prepare to be married to my gypsy in Aug. **hugs** Dreams do have a way of finding the heart of the dreamer....

Well Karen,  August will be quite a month for you.

This storm certainly raged there,  but here,
it was quiet as a church on Saturday...

I felt like I was almost whisked away by
this storm,  and I am happy that you are well
and were not.  Quite happy in fact.
So have a quiet day my friend....

(there is a hidden hint within this)

Storms are a beautiful thing from Mother Nature when they are nice storms, not harmful lol
