This is what my sister Jennifer is experiencing since Alayna was born.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I want to sleep
I am so tired
But all I hear in my head is
Cry...
Cry...
Cry...
I try to sleep
For 20 to 30 minutes
Here and there
But all my baby does is
Cry...
Cry...
Cry...
I even try to sleep
After my baby has had
Her feeding
And 40 minutes to a
Hour and a half later
All I hear is
Cry...
Cry...
Cry...
I can't sleep
But a hour to a
Hour and a half at night
Because my baby only
Knows how to
Cry...
Cry...
Cry...
Sleep deprivation
Is what I have
And it isn't gonna end
Anytime soon
Cold hands means a warm heart
It's sure tough when the babies are still so little...I hope your sister can get some rest soon!
LOL, you've got that right, it doesn't end, EVER!
Make sure she gets some rest though, as post partem depression can soon set in, and it's quite a serious problem with some new mommies.
Hugs, and I'm sure you will be a very big help to her.
My parents know that feeling. We'll also know it one day.
What is life without poetry and adventure?
"Little sister" is just another way of saying "Guardian Angel"!
This is when you have teams that tackle
the problem.  Babies can be very demanding
when they are so young and tiny.  And so
hard to know why....  My heart is with
you, your sister right now..
It can sometimes become a vicious circle of baby crying, mommy getting uptight, baby sensing mommy getting upset, then baby crying even more...and so on and so on...
(Does Alayna have colic?--distended, painful tummy.)
Soothing music usually helps to calm both mother and baby.
Peace & Love,
Linda
Oh yes......those joys of parenthood....and particularly mom's if they're doing the natural thing and there's no bottle for dad to warm so that he can take a turn.... I used to get up for 'em anyway, but wished I could just do it and let her sleep.....
Sometimes did warm the bottle anyway, but not in a way that Junior would notice.....
