Golden heads waving
Feeling heat of winds cross now
Harvest rules the fields
Stay the hail and wait, O storms
Until all year’s gold is gleaned

Beautiful KJ,  yes,  stay the storms, for
they have been both kind as well as very
unmerciful toward a crop that requires
tenderness.

Just beautiful, K. Your images are spectacular...oh gosh, I say that just about every day to you, don't I?

Harvest is going particularly well, and the farmers are rushing to get their yields in.  Crop yields are very high this year...so all that could damage this is hail...so...

No, Dunc...I didn't plant it, but the photo is from the family's field.

When harvest is over, the burning of the stalks will take place...usually around the 4th of July.  Sometimes if you're in the right place, the ground works are as exciting as the sky works...

very nice imagery of grain and harvest,,

I'm surprised to hear they burn the straw ?
it has many valued uses..
