I’ve been struggling of late, with a change of attitude, that I think is a part of growing old. Many of the things I believed before, many of the deeds I was proud to do, seem to me now no more than the attributes of a fool. If I was then as I am now my life would have been very different. There is a sense that I wasted much of my life denying it pleasures freely offered, (though perhaps for the wrong reasons). That other than murder setting principle before pleasure was a stupid answer after all. My father died hard. I thought I would do better. Now, I’m not so sure. |

A funny thing happened on the way to the dealer's house-- I felt dirty. I know exactly where you are coming from here. Something's definately different now. |

quote: But has the Hedonist (or even Epicurean) way of life, ever really satisfied anyone? Is personal pleasure, as the highest good, a path to fulfillment? It's interesting at least, that as life gets along in years, many people have regrets which lie in the other direction. Stephen. |

quote: Man, I couldn't agree more. I look back all the time (even tho I promised myself I would stop it) and try and remember where I have been, in hopes that it will make me appreciate where I am a little more. I think when we are kids, we could care less about anything that doesn't include fun, then as teenagers and young adults we seek direction (by making mistakes as opposed to asking) then as adults we REFLECT on all the things that either we did do, or didn't do, or done and didn't do right. Quotes from one of my favorite songs by Tim McGraw (country singer) is: quote: And for me... that sums it up. I guess all we can do is try not to repeat our mistakes, and make what time we have left worth something. |

Oh how sad. I do not believe you did only because it is impossible to be exactly like someone else. And if you think you missed out on things, now is the time to go out and do them!! Kristabell |

Looking back... I cain't say that I really missed out on much, that may be why it is possible that I regret the past as I do Then again.. had I NOT done those things, I would be sitting here wishing I had Either way... there is some regret in some of it... Hey... and K? I get what you're feeling girl... hang in there sista Tima |
