Beneath the Silk and Satin Spill

I found it when I wasn't looking
this stone, heart shaped and smooth in touch,
beneath the silk and satin memories
pressed away, once meaning much.

I turned it over on equal sides,
so perfect, owned in understand.
Breaking through the sad of me
flowed thoughts of you, in hold of hand.

Each day the pain receives the morn
and bit by bit, the tears have dried.
The shadows reach me in their whispers
letting go of feeling's pride.

No longer wishing to wait the fall
nor share the nightmare's poisoned will,
I find the memories hidden there
beneath the silk and satin spill.

Pretty pictures, I paint today,
covering the stark of white.
The blues and greens match hazel eyes
a cool of color to mute the bright.

Beneath the silk and satin spill,
my heart will ache, but wear no more.
I'm backing up to forward nurse
the smooth of heart in memory's drawer.

M

This reminds me of the time when a was at the Frankfurt Zoo in Germany and I noticed a shiny object on the ground in front of me and as I reached down to pick it up I noticed a nice looking girl appoaching me...the object was a gold heart..I thought to myself this is for her...so I gave her the gold heart and started a conversation and we agreed to go dancing later that evening...James
