Empty, hopeless, my loved ones are dying Invisible tears haunt my face Salt water comes too quickly A lonely, nightmare riddled, memory lamented isolation I face As the ice snow prevails thick around my soul Winter’s grasp freezes leafs that once belonged now bound to shatter into anomaly alone To spend the rest of my life a crumbling being The stars at this night are not quite so sharp as to cut my skin Around me a world attempting to outdo itself with gaudy idealism So much effort for so little love The angel I seek swept away with the wind on a dusky evening She disappeared as her hand fell through mine to become sparse air, a nothing I call out…….. and I remain calling to this day Sperari |
