In the beauty of words, so simple they must come out, freely so unhindered, the garden of a mind flow blossoming on humanities faith to understand them, from open minds inhaling fresh air, questioning the reason for things. The path to express yourself, must never be blocked by limited minds, who see your thoughts as threatening, for the bridges must be built over that, for their fear of words coming together, seeing them as offensive for they did not bother to read, beyond a few lines, to find the reasoning to censure you. In the mind that wants to envision the perfect rose, so delicate it pedals are fairy wings flying in the breeze of thought, so exquisitely fragrant that its intoxication sends other minds to tears of joy, in the miracle of free speech budding in them, developing a love to communicate in such independent voices the harmony is worldwide being heard in the universe of all time. Can one person make the difference? Only if they came down from heaven, so perfect that every one, automatically knew the truth. Yet poets have bumps and bruises, scars of pride and sometimes shame, one of mine has been the fear of other people’s opinions to see within my words of beauty, awaiting my angel that would release the ugly ducking into a prince of words. I waited too long in my fantasy of reality. For I have been released from my bondage and my words will not lay silent anymore. I may have to mend the wounds, for the tiger is on the loose, like the eagle if must fly free. Those that chose to imprison it may have the scars of my stubbornness, but it is time for a miracle of understanding. So if I have offended, not for writing something but for the right to do so in a creative environment. I apologize but release me into the wild, where I can dance within my words. Some within the company wanted to project their image upon corporate policy. But my style will not conform to creative accounting. They will never be condemned for artistic freedoms, from persons with open minds. I disclaim them from being associated from it, if they see my words as ugly. Poetry is not usually about hurting things, But sometimes it is about the hurt that others have inflicted on someone. If I chose to write about it, in order for other to understand it, saving them from the same or that it provides therapy then I will stand proud. In a product that one company builds, it is in a worldwide classic package, designed like a perfect rose. For the craftsmanship and pride frees the mind of its driver onto the road of pleasure. For once behind the wheel the comfort relaxes them from a hectic day in soothing luxury of artistry. So I will keep improving my garden, letting the thorns prick my pride, for the blood must be real to feel, the song of life singing within you. In an almost angelic voice of independence, your spirit will sense the beauty of things, for truly the mind is a fantastic gift to treasure. D.Lester Young 04/26/03 |
