clouded patterns

shadows sleep
languishing in long
stretches of darkness
under grey blankets

while emissions are
tiredly sprayed
from a solitary candle
who slips
on the footsteps of death
into a flickering flame
dressed
in a worn-out attire of wax
that has collapsed
into a puddle
on its stand

in furtive quietness
the candle takes leave
as night descends
flaunting complete control
and takes guard
to watch over the land

~°~°~°~

the day launched itself
with reluctant smiles
of sunbeams entering
with whispering knocks
on ash-grey doors
feeling uninvited
as the rain came down
spilling out like tears
out of a young girl’s eyes
who has had her doll
pulled out of her hand

~°~°~°~

why does it rain
particularly when
all we need is a spot of light
why does memory haunt
especially when
all has been said and done with

why does the cleanest of floors
show a few specks of dust

why does the widest of doors
have an iron safety lock

~°~°~°~

perchance, the link is rust
left behind by the taint
of living in the ancient

it's nice to see the feminine side
of this...

I know this feeling...

my friend calls these "tapes"
that are on automatic self-wind...
no way to destroy them, no way
to tangle them...
seemingly, no way of erasure...

I liked this read, Sudhir...so many levels,
so many places to be pulled, like warm
taffy...

Thank you.

wonderful write of imagery and wisdom poet Sud..very cool lines and analogies.
well done poet sir

You're the best I've ever felt ...
it's so wrong not to be with you.
It's getting harder to stay away,
it stops my heart just to be with you.

I have to say, that I've enjoyed your relaxed and fluid style of writing.

Not to mention the always fine imagery.

Very nice.

(big hugggsssssss) I honestly don't know, though I can only imagine He has to cry so much to see the children lying alone for a prayer! (sad sigh) I recognize these kind of tapestries, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sudhir, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

And that's the most wonderful thing about creating. It will always be a mystery.
