To what do I owe
This wonderful girl
Lying next to me?
All I did
Was comfort her,
Was calm her stormy sea

To what do I owe
This glowing angel
Watching after me?
I have saved no lives.
I have built no home.
I have set no people free.

To what do I owe
This blooming flower
Smelling so sweet to me?
So bright, so big,
So beautiful.
It brings me to my knees.

To what do I owe
This red beating heart
That beats along with me?
I fell for her.
She fell for me.
It came so naturally.

To what do I owe
This wonderful girl
Lying next to me?
I treated her
How she deserv'd.
Now I clearly see

I love her more
than I can bear.
All I can do is breathe
