So utterly sad and diminished is my heart absent your voice. This lonliness burns from within through layers of tissue stretched over the color of bone wounds face with frowns that could sink the sun behind clouds forever. I am on my knees asking for your arms to suspend my fall and yet you remain too far away for bones and tissue for cords berating your lifepump with blood to react with quickness and catch me as I fall into darkness clutching a dehydrating will. Although my heart has touched fingertips with yours my body misses the embrace of your presence. You could hurt me with your bare hands. You could hurt me using the sharp edge of what you say. Man alive, did you ever bring up some painful memories!--but thankfully, I am so far removed from those times, that the memories are now simply misty watercolor paintings that have faded by the sunlight of my days... I commend you on this fine piece of emotive writing. Healing hugs, Linda |
