Part of me never forgets,
like the wind
on a still day
hiding
in the atoms,
in the molecules of the air,
my thoughts go racing
endlessly
around each other;

each a field of scattered forces,
starlight points of energy,

each separate until joined,
they turn
to move their kindred thoughts
faster
than the natural drift of time;

then
united,
turn again
to form an eddy,
capriciously
they merge into a flow and,
choosing a direction,
make a breeze
and grow
to be the wind.

A wonderful poem, holding powerful energy! Not always we manage to "maintain a steady breeze" .... the storm wants its own feast.
I enjoy your style very much.
Love, Margherita

icebox

I have felt the force of thought coming from you in your poetry.... powerful as well as sensitive.  The combination does make an impact, as wind does.

You sure know how to pick up the wind and run with it.

Nice drift, you~

Power in this -- I like it! There's definitely room for the masculine in poetry.

Margherita ~ Yes, some thoughts, like some poetry, or like any strong passion, claw at life, demands access to the world.  Yet all start with a single small thought.  Thank you for reading my poem and for your comment.

Martie ~ Funny, I would say the same for your poetry.  Thank you for reading my poem and thank you for your patience with me.

Balladeer ~ You made me laugh!  Thank you, Sir.

gyiel marlok ~ I believe that thoughts can be woven into tapestries.  Thank you for reading my poem.  I hope you are enjoying PIP.

nakdthoughts ~ Yes, he made me laugh.  I am glad you like the picture(s)... *smile*

BluseSerenade ~ I love the wind.  It is one of the elementals which is among my favorites.  I weigh a bit more than most and I have gone out in winds that have blown me over - I LOVED IT!  Thank you for reading my poem and for your comments.

the_loner_23 ~ I am glad you could feel it; the wind really is great.  Thank you for stopping by.

Ratleader ~ Yes, balance is essential in all things.  Without yin there is no yang; without yang there is no yin.  Thank you for reading my poem and for sharing your insight.

You folks are very kind.  This poem could serve as a three foot target at the 25 meter firing line.  After I posted it, I thought of all sort of hot air and big wind jokes.  Your restraint as a group is astonishing.  Thank you for being serious about poetry.  Even when you are playful, you make it important.

passing shadows ~ Oh, well you see I have a perverse love of hurricaines.  Not unlike a fondness for dangerous women.  *smile*
