It's possible to be "true" to yourself in this way, I know. Once I realized what an insult that was to my creator I began to focus on more positive things and release my fears. It's difficult and a long process, it seems, for I'm not "there" yet. Thanks for sharing this.... |

the_loner_23 -- thank you, I always appreciate your taking the time to read and comment. Kahlil -- no you didn't miss something. These things are always open to interpretation. The meaning for me was the cicular thinking involved here, purposely it seemed to me. Like you, it was a long process for me, just to realize what it was. Thank you for your comments, as always. |

ok, I'm glad to hear that...I also thought it might be the "stuff" that is said to you, that you appear to believe for yourself, but which you know deep down isn't true. I've been there, also. So that's why this piece was so moving to me, personally. |

Yes, that's exactly it, for me. Even though I knew it wasn't true, I continued to believe it for a long time. Because I think it was the people who told me. There are people in your life, in other words, who you just don't want to believe would think such things. It takes a long time to accept it, and a long time to get over it. Thank you very much. |

for some of us the little voice inside ourselves just isn't loud enough to drown out those other voices. and we may spend a lifetime living that way....out of childhood, into adult relationships, marriage, child-raising...and those "truths" which aren't true, follow us. We try not to allow it but we're not sure what to believe. Well, I could go on and on, oops, this is a forum, hee hee. Thanks for sharing your meaningful writing... |

I am still not sure how to interpret this. I got stuck on the worthless bit. I liked Kahlils reply about the little voices that shape our lives. Makes you want to tell them to quiet down already. Certainly an interesting look in the mirror, man. Ahem! |

Blues: I guess that's the great thing about this piece, I've said it so many times...the thing we really want to do with our writing is touch other people. Mirrorman has found a way to make each of us look within and see what we need to see. Isn't that COOL?????!!!!! |
