Moved from a shack to a barn

To celebrate joining a year ago today...and a couple thousand posts

.....................

There is a place
That I’ve built
To house the corpses
To keep the bodies
Of bled-out romance
Of murdered trust

I store them there
To keep them with me
To keep them close

Fragile broken things
Scattered and jumbled
Throughout this shrine
That I’ve built
To lust and greed and deceit

I visit them still
Now and again
Examining each in turn
Frozen in time
Perfectly preserved
The scars from every hurt
Accuse and accurse

So I’ll address them
One or another
And drape them
With the vestments
Of alternative futures

And they are not soothed
And they do not forgive

wranx~ Your feelings are vivid in this.
Methinks the 'visit' is familar to all of us who call ourselves poets.  You are such a deep thinker, so wise in your years.  And this is only the first, sheesh?  (sorta, maybe, kinda)

Thank you Sir, for the blessing of your words~

You said not to expect perfection from you and I try so hard not to, but here you go again!  To top it all off, you speak of a topic with such clarity I bet every person knows so well, but you take that subject and just hit us in the gut with it.  You are one of my favorites and this is why, but on this occasion Congratulations on your milestone and most importantly, thank you for doing your craft so well and sharing it.

Congratulations on two milestones. For 2000 posts and for your one year anniversary at PiP. You claim not to be a poet but reading this dispells that claim. Your poetry is not so much from the heart as it is from the soul....

Ed, you are such a talented writer. I know that I tell you that all the time, but I just don't ever read a poem of yours that has anything at all wrong with it. I don't reply every time I read, because I have no idea what to say that would mean anything. But, I do want you to know that I love your poetry and I do read it.

Congratulations, Ed, on being here for a year and for your 2000 posts.

Hugs to you
Ethel

Exactly.

"So I’ll address them
One or another
And drape them
With the vestments
Of alternative futures

And they are not soothed
And they do not forgive"

it's the only way understanding is assured, yes? Hugs, m'yeti...

thanx wranx, for sharing some scar tissue

that sounds weird, I know, but I also know you know exactly what I mean....
your sharing often helps someone else's healing

As another recent poster, commented, sometimes sharing your scars can help another heal.
You have helped this "other" heal.  Thank you, very much.

Congratulations on your 1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY and on your 2,000th post!

RE this poem, it is another fine example of Wranxian poetry! You are in a class all of your own, Dear Ed!

A dark recess of the mind
where we cloak these unwanted memories
we keep them blind.

Well written!

A year ago, this could have been describing me... but spring does come to even the most frozen wasteland. *S* And as others have indicated before me... your words have made a difference. *S*

Congratulations on both milestones, wranx...

their pale eyes
