The Pain Just wont subside Thoughts of suicide are constantly on my wondering mind I’m along for this bumpy ride The last petal has fallen off the red rose leaving the stem barren Its thorns stabbing into my throbbing heart I’m off to a rough start the days go by like years sleeping is my only vacation I shower myself in darkness cannot find the light My world revolves around black and white Rainbows are unheard of in my lonesome world You go count your lucky stars well I sit here wishing for some By Sara Connolly |

I like it, it's a very accurate portait of depression. Stay with us, yeah? |

~Sighs~ I've felt this in the past. Glad you've decided to Share your talent With us I do not know whether I was then a man dreaming I was a butterfly, or whether I am now a butterfly dreaming I am a man. |

Welcome to the forum Sara. I'm glad you read the guidelines about posting poetry that glories suicide. This poem does not so it's ok. I hope you enjoy your time here. Please check your email for something special. |

Welcome Sara: I am late to the group, and sorry I missed this first time round. The emotion you portray in your work was well done... I have noted that sometimes we hesitate to read of what seems painful...or too close. Sometimes it is mood, sometimes it is deeper. Don't be afraid to write, the guidelines here are generous, and there are great people to help us steer between. Nice work. ThisDiamond |

Nice writing Sara...thank God it was from your past. Reminded me of the time when I was in pain over a lost relationship and I would stay up all night watching television (TBN) until I would finally fall asleep exhausted and I would always hope that I wouldn't wake up in the morning because the pain would still be there...it definately gets better....James |

You expressed depression accurately here. I could feel your emotions and could relate. As I have said before...although I hate the fact that others have felt this sadness, there is at the same time a comfort in knowing someone else has felt the same. Thank you for sharing. Patricia |

Welcome to PIP. This poem is a clear statement of heartache and its associated pains. I hope you hang around to heal, become strog again, and show us what else you can do when vision is not narrowed by the distorting lens of pain. Thanks for sharing your feelings with us all. |
