With You The old saying goes You don't know me unless you've walked a mile in my shoes. But what if -- let's just say, I took them off and walked a mile without? Would my understanding be anymore clearer? Would my vision be anymore brighter? Would the soles of both my feet grow weary and caloused from the rugged terrain? Would they even bleed? I tell you, dear friend, I stand here with you, beside you, not in front of or behind you. With every step you make, I will shuffle to meet yours. If your shoes are tattered and torn, I'll give you mine -- and walk without. I'll walk with you through the deepest valleys and across the widest deserts and beyond. No, I don't know who you are or where you are coming from. I know only that I am willing to take each step with you. quatro 06/03/03 |

actually the opening verse rather reminded me of the old spin to that saying--"never judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes--that way you're a mile away and you still have his shoes!"  But I do say I like your take on it much better. Lovely sentiment and I enjoyed the read. |
