Change and I

Change and I go round about
And of that, there is no doubt
He measures me in dust and grime
And takes each day a grain of time

He has no feelings I can see
He measures things in time to be
He does not love he does not hate
He plays forever’s game of fate

He is the windmill of our joust
He is the symbol of our roust
He lets us turn our head in bed
And lets us dream eternals wed

He lets us fill our filigree
And sail whatever argosy
For he’s the master of our best
Yet does not score the final test

He is eternals magic eye
That sets the time and sets the die.

Liked this Sy, I look change in the eye every morning. You are right,he lacks feeling. On good days we make more steps forward than back.

Change is strange and sometimes ranges
far beyond where the eye can see...
ripples come from stone that's thrown
and seasons' dust will cover the grange...

but what is constant is before me now
seeing our Sy in wrinkle of brow
leaving behind a verse, rehearsed,
and making it all better, somehow...

Oh Sy, how much I can relate to this! My Hon and I watched the movie, "Tuck Everlasting" over the weekend. The story of a family who drank from a spring and never grew old.

Hmmmm...somedays I wonder.

Personally, 'change' and I don't get along that well.
I have a hard time with 'change'.
I would  prefer everything to remain the same.
Excellent morning read love.
Tea's on!  I'll pour.

Without change...

There's no chance to grow,
There's no chance to know
All of the me I can be

Change is my opportunity!

Good write!

There have been so many changes in my life...I sort have become used to it. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained" it is said.
Speaking of "change"....how about a "wildberry" muffin with tea?
Thankyou Seymour for this mornings thoughts.
Hugs, Chris

Howdy Doody, Mr. T.!

I thought I'd "change" my intro this fine Spring morning!

Change does offer us the opportunity to grow, mind you I do not always enjoy the growing pains!

Another fine specimen from thy pen!

Loving hugs and a sunny smile,
Linda

Wonderful write and such an important subject. Sometimes I beleive our perception of change is what matters. But those perceptions can be so hard to alter. This is a daily concept I am always trying to wrap my little brain around. Great write! Like the rythm too.

Make your words as sweet as honey, someday you may have to eat them.
