now
I have been asked
to choose
brimstone
from the golden path
now
I ask myself
to choose
to tell the difference...

now I'm asked
to understand
the subtleties
within...

now I'm asked
to live again
as I betrothed
myself
to death.

Now they toss
the dirt upon
my face in frozen smile.
They maul
the petals
of the rose
and drop them on me
rectified.

now they touch the hand
and pray
on the velvet under knees
and the water
on my face
is holy
in my hour of need.

Now
the light
plays through the glass
and colors play
upon my face.

Now
I see
the universe
finally
with my eyes closed.

simple simon met the pieman
and he gave a quarter bid.
Three foot wide
and six foot dig--
it's where you'll find my bones.

Simple Simon met a Pieman
Going to the fair,
Said the Pieman to poor Simon
“You can’t go there”
Shocked was Simon they’d deny him,
But his face did not turn red
Then the Pieman told Simple Simon
Don’t you know you are dead?

So Simon of the newly dead
Turned slowly round instead
And shuffled back to sorrowed soul
To once again lay within his dank hole.

I came upon him, Simple Simon,
He was just a tattered knave,
With body creaking, still unspeaking
As he lay back into his grave.
He had no velvet casket there
Only a dirty shroud to hide his face,
No marker with name to tell where
Was Simple Simon’s resting place.

Then the Pieman said to Simon
I pity your poor final lay
Then tossed a copper coin in
For the ferryman you can pay.

Love it. It's like jazz.

Well this simple Simon
Loves the verse and rhym'n
Of both fiery blaze,
and the gloomy pieman

serenity,
Simple Simon wrote a rhyme
And left it on a symbols time.

You and Gloom should croon a tune!

Duet perhaps?

Warm hugs,
