haunting words that leave a slab of something quivering in gut no one ever gave a damn I still hear the schoolyard taunt picking scabs and bleeding rocks everybody--laughed. I heard them say sing-song tunes of yesterday they say that she was born that way whispers hang from monkey bars... check her first-- don't you think she smells? pig-tailed curses from the swings from perfect lips in curl... to see if I could hop the grace I never did jump high enough-- |

Oh my...you brought back the rising flush of blush and stain of strain to fit in - and be like all the others...who, by conforming to be just like their own, are now molded into a background in my mind as that of a rock - heavy, stolid, and if in water, possibly stagnant and green with moldy residue... I do believe you and I would have sat outside that group, sharing whatever our little brown sacks of sustenance carried...knowing in our quiet solitude, that some day... we might show them... something... different. Fear and jealousy of the gifted has made many act a fool....they hung "some guy" on a cross once...and burned "some chick" named Joan... some are blinded by the light...and some find their reverie in it.  oh and.......... wanna sing with me? You KNOW the song....  Doctors have come from distant cities just to see me stand over my bed disbelieving what they're seeing they say I must be one of the wonders of god's own creation and as far as the can see they can offer no explanation I believe fate smiled and destiny laughed as she came to my cradle "know this child will be able" laughed as my body she lifted "know this child will be gifted with love, with patience and with faith she'll make her way" people see me I'm a challenge to your balance I'm over your heads how I confound you and astound you to know I must be one of the wonders of god's own creation and as far as you can see you can offer me no explanation from: Natile Merchant Wonder |
