Oh but once this oft worried mind
could find the bed of restfulness.
Would walk the fields of greenery
within the brows furrowed repress.

Where flowers dance the warming ray
in meadows of the green and bold.
Till light is born in frolic play
to take my hand, to tremor hold.

For as each grain the glass does spill
upon the mound of aching thought.
A distant loon, unheard does trill
in wait the mate in lustful naught.

A curving lip upon the skip
of beat where frowns do often lie.
The journey long of feet that slip
as softly heard the moans reply.

To wake the dream's reality
and walk the field of golden grain.
A wish, a thought, a wanted plea
from which my voice shant not refrain.

Now, as the light does wane the hill
upon the oceans saddened blue.
I cast a rope in need the tug,
a friendly grasp, a hug will do.

Can't put my finger on the pulse of it all but you write in a traditional style that reminds me of someone.....Hummm....Well this is well crafted and a great read!

Barry,

Close your eyes, worry not.

For tomorrow you will walk the field of golden grain. Not a wish, not a thought, not a plea...a reality.

She will pull you in from those sad oceans. And hug you close as well.

Forgive me, I got caught up with this one.  I read it numerous times...had to ask the 12 year old to turn down the stereo 40 times.(slight exaggeration, very slight! LOL)

I hope I got it.  You let me know, OK?

Patricia

Chris....on my way!!!

Patricia,  you are close...  yet, with all
poetry...there is always the mystique of
exactly what the poet is writing of...
sometimes...  I start knowing,  sometimes
I start learning what it is..

Magnus...This is such exquisite reminesce. To think what a simple hug can do for the human spirit. What tears one kiss will wipe away. Your thoughts beautifully expressed, my friend. ***Ivy Rose
