He: A Man’s Word

Where he has hurt, I’ll heal you,
and though he left, I’ll stay.
What he has sold, I’ll buy again;
he failed: I’ll find a way.

The treasure he has squandered
I swear I will regain,
and though his love deserted you
my own love will remain.

He left your stage without a bow;
I’ll stay and play my part.
He saw you with his eyes alone;
I’ll see you with my heart.

Such a powerful work here...struck deeply to rhe memory of a man's word, as his worth, and his oath.  Very lucky woman.
Excellent write. TD

A man is only as good as his word...and a poet has many.

Youve written a lovely, poetic final word upon someones lucky heart with this tender, sincere gem of pen Ed...very nice indeed.

Riveting to the final curtain.
Yes, I enjoyed this, Ratleader.

How very open and sincere.
These are words every woman wants to hear.

Very nice. You've satiated my apetite for a simple, yet beautiful, poem to read.

Ed,

Please, a moment to compose myself.  Where are those tissues.  Oh my, this is so wonderful.  I am personally going to check your garage for the cement mix.  Don't you dare even think about it.

You have melted me...to a mere puddle of tears.

I would think that words such as these from a sincere heart would make even the most bitter journey worth every step it took to find the man who'd utter them. *S*

This is far more than beautiful... it's hope for everyone still searching for the healing... still searching for someone who'll obliterate the scars he left. *S*

You will stay
and play
and see with heart
on knees
and hands in perfect caress
of a broken soul
but how long
will you endure
with as much strength
as you possess
this very moment?

Sorry...I suppose this is just my mood today. I have little faith in such things these days, and your poem just inspired me to speak.

enjoyed

Ed~
This touched me more deeply than you know.
Such a beautiful write, and so full of love.
She is definitely a lucky lady.

A beautiful expression of an oath; of a commitment.

Particularly like this:

He saw you with his eyes alone;
I’ll see you with my heart.

Seeing with the heart...is the only way to open the eyes.

Nicely done.
