To My Children... Samantha Lee (10 years old) and Alexander Caleb ( five years old). I'll always remember the day it rained but I will always wait for us. I love you. Mommy

A Little Fall

Lilac seems to be embracing the air we breathe
Can even witness the green grass obsessing ground
Forgive me, though I stand here on the edge of summer
That a hint of bitter cold can be found...

I'm in the middle of trying to watch summer dance
Yet, caught between hell and losing my mind
I can sense a little of fall coming on
And, I'm just confused of the seasons this time...

For, every time the leaves decided to grace all land
That's when heartache made it's strongest stand
Oh, I feel a memory sending me to my knees
How amazing a little fall could separate you and me...

Somehow I'm missing the extremes of the sun
Perhaps numb to any warmth on my skin
But, when the rain brought along an October's chill
I fell short of what season I'm in...

That little bit of fall left a hint of good-bye
That this summer couldn't seem to embrace
And, even though the morning birds sing a new tune
I hear a little fall in this place...

So, I'm going down I can surely tell
To the ground I've learned to wear so well
So, understand if I must slowly crawl
As these tears they take a little fall...

Hello Saunni

I can't believe no one has commented on this beautiful, yet sad piece of writing.  Your children must be so very proud of you.  Thank you for sharing your soul with us.

Take care.....Sue

Hugs to you.

BTW, I still have those pictures, in my memory, if not on this PC.
Sweet summer thoughts, peaceful dreams to you. Even when you walk within the cool mists, you know where the warmth resides.

First click I did just now, and it's your poem I opened. And such a lovely one, I'm glad I did. Fall is one of my fav'rite seasons, with the riot of colors one can see on trees.
