I felt the dust cling to my chest from a day of sweat and ale I blew upward lower-lipped to brush the hair from covered eye as I bent I saw you look searching for the down of me and a steady blush was born slow at first then harder yet as you laughed at me outloud loving my un-ease. Whiskered stubble on the chin and hands that knew the worth of a mug of ale and shots blue eyes yellowed by the past I swallowed, when I smelled your musk eager for your word. I brought to you a tankard full and danced there silently beneath your eyes appraising me joyous in debauchery as you winked at me. Tell me stories, will you sir? Later? Draw your maps on me. I will sing for you--I shall-- squeeze the tune from the bagpipe. I will lick the salt of sea and hoist the sail for distance lands promised in your eye. Sing me songs of poetry. I shall dance for you. * * * inspired by: /pip/Forum79/HTML/002429.html |

Ahh.. Somebody point me to the nearest pub. I think I could do well with a cup of Irish coffee. This is fantastic...I read it 3 or 4 times. I let the whole thing unfold... each time it got better and better, which I didn't think could be possible. I think I shall go back for another shot of this one. Loved it (can you tell?) Patricia |

serenity, Wearing symbols as your shoses You walk the quicksand of your blues Dance upon the fires burn Cool the heat that is your yearn. But fantasy of cooling rhyme Will only last a moments time. The antidote is not in rue But in the ancorage of true. ![]() |
