This Time, Yellow Chiffon I saw her again last night This time sitting on a hillside, wistful peaceful smile the same as ever and the dark hair flowing in a sunlit breeze. Her dress, yellow chiffon this time, spread carelessly around her on the green, the little grass stains more her color, but a beauty anyway. And this time there are papers in her hands and scattering along the wafting air, some nearby on the grass, some blowing far, some tangled in the net of wild mustard at the edge of this full meadow. From a distance she’s a paper comet with a plume of papers trailing outward to the edge of sight, up close, she’s something else, an angel or a child's yellow toy, or both, clothed in chiffon. The papers, words of them, she’s reading each again although I know she knows the words of every line she’s put there; after each she lets it fall, just fall to join the scatter, taken up by any little air to anywhere, any place the right one. Turns to me as always with a braver smile but this time there are tears. |

I see her too... your field of vision... is beautiful. It's a keeper, Ed... a treasure. |

I really enjoy reading this delightfully sweet, sensitive and highly romantic side to your writing. I'm even smelling the fresh scent of lemons from all that yellow chiffon in the sunlight. Huggums, Linda |

Ed This has such an etherial feel to it...as if the quality of what you saw was very bright, yet covered with the candle light of your love...and so made beautiful. A remarkable poem! |

I know she knows the words of every line she’s put there; after each she lets it fall, just fall to join the scatter, Perfect choice of color and fabric Ed... Loved the breezy, wistful feel to this. You write with such a delicate touch, conveying both joy and sadness. Nicely done Ed~ |

Oh so lovely, Ed. I feel serene right now. Had a rough day, trying to tame the wild horses of emotions in me. Your writing is good medicine. Thanks. Patricia |

Just everybody has taken the words from my mind. All I have to say, I got mesmerized too by the yellow chifon, but sad about the letting go of those papers to just anywhere the wind would scatter them (I wonder what's in them?) |

This a hard one to talk about.... I'll just say that I'm glad it reached you with some of the strength that little dream had for me, a half hour before I wrote about it. ....and jjote...there are many kinds of tears. Many, many kinds. I do know what was written on those papers, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if some future dream has me walking around there and picking them up. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

I cannot begin to tell you how many times I've come back to read this, Ed. So, for my own sanity, it is now libraried and printed. It's become more than a Keeper. |

I didn't know I was voyeuristic... until I became so captivated in watching. *S* You paint a vivid picture and yet leave much to our imagination... and in doing so, let us interpret the scene through our own hearts. For me, the setting is serene but the mood somber... and the tears make me ache to offer comfort. *S* I like this very much. *S* |

I hope that you don't mind me keeping it, too, so that I can go back time and time again. I love this romantic, soft side of you, too, dear friend. I hope that you will see fit to share more of it with us.... (You know what a hopeless romantic I am...and some of the others here are.) Heart hugs to you, Ethel |
