It seems I've known you all my life,
initially, your poetry held me close
and then your unwavering spirit
found it's way into my heart.

Opening up the door where sadness
and laughter echo's through the screen
endearing me with every word
taking time to dry my tears.

I remember letting anger get into the way
when we both felt double crossed
in the end our friendship has survived
the many trials and tribulations.

You have taught me patience and tolerance
forgiving with graceful acceptance
forming a lasting bond, we've carved a place
drawing on the meaning of what friend's are really for.

My Mother used to tell me
friends are far and few between
how precious is the gift to find that special someone
who will be there just for you.

As the days draw near the time
I'm filled with an anticipation
to know your smile with my eyes
surely bringing me to tears,  from all the happiness we've known.

It is your shoulder that's always been there
never doubting me or letting go
and even though it seems I've known you all my life
I am counting on the days to walk beside you as we go.

Resting my arm over your shoulder
in hopes that you will know,
what a difference you have made.

~*~

It took someone special to write something special about someone who is special.

This was beautiful and obviously straight from your heart.

Blessings and loves 'n hugs and a great big smile to both you and Maureen,

Linda
P.S.I am so happy that you are going to get to see each other vis a vis! There are a  few Pipsters that I would love to hug in person!

so sweet, Lori. I just got in, sorry I left my computer on by mistake...but I have caught your words now and can only say it takes two to make a friendship work...some give and take from each.
Your words make my day end with a smile and I thank you for that.

Many Hugss
M

oh and you do know how we first met at bop...with a poem about the loss of a child...something I felt deeply about.

Proud I am to be, however minutely, accquainted with you Blues, and blessed are we to have you open your heart like this for all to see.  Wonderful expression about/for another that gives us enormous insight into to just "who" you are.... and my soul is warmer for that.

Lori,  friendship is a beautiful gift in
our treasure chest of life...You have been
blessed with that...

I know M. has enjoyed the friendship and I am
also sure she is beaming over this poem.

Nicely done!

Thanks for all your nice replies.  It is wonderful to have something to look forward to.  My vacation will be a special one for many reasons, filled with family and friends.  I'll take lots of pics but I'll only post the good ones.  If it rains the whole time I am finished!  My hair would never survive it.

Thank you again for all your good wishes~

Lori,
Vacation?! Way cool... I love how your life has progressed. You deserve the best and it seems to me that you are finally getting it.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

I am going to Philly for my nephews college graduation, and spending some quality time with my family.  Then I am going to Ocean City NJ and am staying at a B and B called Serendipity..cute name huh?  I am sucker for cozy surroundings.  I hope to bring home some pretty sea shells and collect my thoughts along the way.  Thank you for sharing the good times with me.
