The unread letter spinning in my head.
What did it say?
Why was its envelope red?

I should have read it when I had the chance.
Before the wind swept it away,
preventing even one small glance!

Was it my grandmother's will?
Was it important ?
Or just another bill?

Maybe it was a simple flyer,
saying their company was short handed
and needed someone to hire.

Maybe it was a love letter,
saying I was his world,
and that there was none better.

Maybe it was addressed "only to the scholars,"
saying I had been selected,
to receive a million dollars!

Maybe it was just some annoying chain,
saying, "The ghosts will get ya,
if you do not send this down the lane!"

Maybe it was from Hollywood
saying I was picked to star in
the upcoming hit,"Gone for good."

Then the mailman knocked on my door,
I said "hello sir,"
he grumbled, "I found this over at address four."

He handed me a paper smelling of lard,
it was the unread letter!
...which turned out to be my awful report card...

Enjoyed the flow of the events...and the unread letter. Something to peak the curiousity, and the spirit, and the ending was great. TD
