Days like this

Ever forward –
the world now refuses
to tolerate perception’s
former memory.

My hair ungracefully precedes
as I bend, before the winds
of change take my feet
out from under.

Days like this have need
to hold tightly, to stay myself
from backward stepping-
as I find myself powerless
to resist the gusts of grieving
for the tight fisted
face to the wind stance
I left behind.

I thank God for a wind break
within the shelter of his hands
and for a bowed heart
that deepens roots.
Come time to slip under cover
of night, days like this mute into
a mere murmur.

jellybeans....there is nothing ungraceful about you, not even your hair....and especially not your poetry. This is you at your best....

You continue to amaze. There is always this tone of gravity to your words, but not unfeeling, and the intelligence is evident.

Do me a favor and e mail me? Hugs and applause.
