As a million white crosses go through the floor I can’t comprehend why they all go to war A thousand white crosses pierce through the ground Do they understand how many fall down? And a hundred white crosses line up in a row Some kids hang around to read names that they know While just ten white crosses stand alone in a street To remind passers by of the dangers they meet But it’s one white cross that stares out at me And I wonder why this is the only one I see It goes through the floor and pierces the ground And lines in a row on a street where it’s bound And to take a step back it looks just the same As the others I see, but this one has my name. . . . . . Ten minutes ago my page was blank, I lift my head and saw an image on the TV. Muses are funny like that aren't they? [This message has been edited by sweetwater (05-20-2003 02:04 PM).] |
