Memory Has A Mind ... Our memory does have a mind all its own, Selecting but from the seeds we’ve sown. Of chaotic clutter, it tries to make sense, Drawing upon only its frame of reference. Perspectives and philosophies are sprung, From our memory, not our mind nor tongue. Thus caught in conflict, we often remain From past experience stored in our brain. Evaluations are made in aggregate sum, Based only from point of whence we come. As we hold onto our past for memory sake, We can never be certain of chance we take. So, next time I am asked for the truth to recall, I’ll ask first if my memory held any truth at all. I think I love him... but my love is but a memory...
