Act I: The Romance Begins

I remember I was in rare form on
that beautiful eve.
The music told a love story that
I could believe.
My spirit was finally unleashed
wild and free,
When I happened on his brown eyes
gazing at me.
Introduced himself as Robert,
added this isn’t my style,
I, enticed by his eyes, stopped
and chatted awhile.
As I quietly commented on the
song the band play,
“Accompany me to the dance floor,”
I heard him say.
I shyly nodded my head,
and he gently took my hand
As we escaped in the music
to some unchartered land.
I felt myself melting away
with him on that dance floor.
As he looked into my eyes,
I couldn’t dance anymore.
Then his lips touched mine for
the first time that night,
And I felt my heart overflow
with pure lover’s delight.
With eve’s last dance,
I so believed that he was right,
As he whispered promises to be
kept for another night.
