In Deserted Moments

I wonder why I think of you
in deserted moments of my day.
The million kisses I have stolen
just from thoughts that come my way.
Amazing, though I try to please,
surrendering to yesterday.
I've framed you, set you by my side
and that is where you'll always stay.

I tell myself what chance is there,
while waiting for a moment's meet.
Was it not just yesterday,
that you had swept me off my feet.
I'm holding plans to spring alive
a list of such, a balance sheet.
Reminding me of faith in dreams
reaching for the real, complete.

Time is always on my side,
though aging still, another year.
A touch of warmth, I feel inside
when comfort calls and you appear.
I've chiseled points, unmasked the hide,
denial not a word to fear.
The softness rises when you stride
and eyes of mine rest on yours, near.

M

wonderful rhythm, flow and feel to this piece

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

This is just exceptional. Even in the midst of your darkest hours, you write with skill and heart.

I'm in the midst of one of the worst writers block I've ever had. I tried writing earlier, and it was like pulling teeth. Painful while doing it, and painful after upon reading my effort.

Thank you Virginia and Chris.
Anne, I have never had a writer's block, although there are times when I don't wish to write.

Sometimes just reading another's words or title will give me inspiration if I need it.

Maureen, (I hope you don’t mind if I call you Maureen? I blush anytime I write the word, “naked”... lol)

This was real, real nice!

You know, we’re either thinking of that person we want to be in love with. Or, we’re thinking of that person we are in love with. Or, we are thinking of that person, we used to be in love with...

Whew!!!

There’s a lot of work involved in this love thang, aint there?

Geesh!

Maureen, I really liked this poem of yours,

Wonderful!

Thank you for noticing my words.

And Richy, you may call me Maureen...I can see where the nakd part may make you blush
Hey, maybe I am writing about one I once loved, and still love or maybe even hope to love again..that's the fun of words...they can make you wonder

Thanks Dixie

This is a wonderful poem. It touches the senses in a way all great poem do. Thank you.

Make your words as sweet as honey, someday you may have to eat them.

vandana, I appreciate your visits

Bill, thanks. I took that picture on a day I felt I looked more like myself although no matter how much I smiled those turned out bad..so I am serious in this one but feel good about it.

Kethry, thanks

bslicker, thanks Bernie. Probably there are many who can relate.
