Bits of a Journal – from the Soddy, date unknown And you, my dear make smiles light secret places where whispers touch and hums turn to song... Watch the mists as they do part for in the glen is where we start upon a pathway for only two above the green, beneath the blue Carry courage, comfort, values, heart as the wind carries all dreams start talk in quiet as you lay the stick as the mists fold in so thick They are for us but a blanket of thought when future's past is a glimpse of caught And you, my dear make smiles light secret places where whispers touch and hums turn to song... Eager are the hands to hold all that will would turn to gold see the sheaf from boot appear and see the growth of golden ear See the tassels in the blow see the gifts to reap what’s sowed see these treasures spark your eyes what should change but realize For they are but now a blanket of thought when future's past is a glimpse of caught And you, my dear make smiles light secret places where whispers touch and hums turn to song... Harsh the winds that scour earth ravaging that we hold as worth shrill the bird before the quiet when thunder reigns, a mighty riot Earthly pelts of swift flung ice may crops be saved, a season twice? Might we face the coming year Or shall the elephant see our fear? For this is now the blanketed thought when future's past is a glimpse of caught And you, my dear make smiles light secret places where whispers touch and hums turn to song... It is to you I turn to find a courage strengthened like rooted vine a cup of water to salve my thirst to know this is not the worst we strive again, a forward path knowing this is not God’s wrath but nature come, as nature goes wending joy and wending woes For this I keep, a blanket of thought when future's past is a glimpse now caught And you, my dear make smiles light secret places where whispers touch and hums turn to song... I could have read on and on and on. Everything about this poem was perfection--the story, the rhythm, the emotion, the imagery...Absolutely captivating piece of writing. Loving hugs, Linda |

Karilea, You are such a gosh darn amazing writter. You manage to write the most fascinating and brilliant poems without a flaw. This held my interest and left me wanting to read more. Huggles, Marti Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts. A.Einstein |

Ah, if only I could be a person who makes "smiles light secret places where whispers touch and hums turn to song..." I love your imagination, Karilea. You are always bringing us to unexplored lands... Wonderful poem. ~El Campeador “We are all travelers in the wilderness of this world, and the best that we can find in our travels is an honest friend.” –Robert Louis Stevenson |
