Linda, this piece sounds great. I like the first few lines, it sounded so beautiful... Take my soul and I shall be but an empty shell. Here, it sounded a little wierd to me. Probably coz earlier on you were talking about comforting feelings, and then you end with a 'not so happy' imagery.  Well, that's my take.  But I still like it!_,,,^.^,,,_ |

Mon Cherie ~ I can understand where you are coming from with your interpretation. I was trying to impart that we can give only so much. If someone is draining our very soul through their neediness and demands, there would then be nothing of us left to give. We would lose vitality and our light would begin to fade away. I know what you mean, and I'm truly impressed by the simple power in the way you say it. Yes, things that can rightly be given, should be....but the soul, even a piece of it, is a gift that can leave you empty.  (smiles) Giving it all can truly be a twi-way street! When so many speak of emptiness it sounds like despair but at the same time when we share and give our love to everyone, you are bound to get the light in return and to be empty in a nirvana sense is by far the most free beautiful feeling of all! Linda, I really like this. I have gone that extra mile....when strength, comfort and love wasn't enough...and it is easy to become depleted...when we lay down our soul to those who seem to have a sieve of their own....sad, knowing when to give, how much and when to stand back and just let God... awesome right I loved the twist at the end awww rat stole my reply - lol you cant take what you already share but yes - I too have been plagued by the vampires of love - lol true heaven when you find a soulmate & hell without that special someone looking forward to more from such a talented poet . . . all that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream . . . Noah, I understand what you are saying, but the depletion of myself was not nirvana. I now love myself as much as I do everyone else and I give from a full to over-flowing, proverbial cup of life--and there now seems to be a limitless supply of love to give! Love ya, angel man! Linda |
