I spoke to the air today
broadcasting my thoughts
in tentative whispers

the breeze was in a sweeping mood
as it took my words away
from my lips to my shadow’s ears
while my eyes awaited a knowing nod
and the sight of a compassionate
‘I understand how you really feel’ look

but an evil cloud came by
dressed in its cloak of darkness
to brush away the sun
and sent it
into a shrouded conceal
in one blanketing sweep

and I waited
breathing lungs full of patient air
for the sun to come out
after the cold rain

nightfall came instead
and the sky felt
the lack of the moon, too

only the artificial lights
of neon streetlights
made a feeble attempt
to revive my shadow

but was not enough to
make it signal a knowing nod
and its eyes, I couldn’t see

Hey Sudir
Sometimes you just can't get through and the clouds of life seem to have everything on hold....But keep breathing that patient air....I really like that thought.

Good writing!

now this, I like Sudhir. . . I love the way that you use the idea of the shadow, and how we "speak" to them, in hoping that we (or they) will hear. . .

every time I read you, you get better my friend. . .well done. . .
