She Walks She walks along the moving shore Of future and of past. What secrets does the ocean store Beneath its depth so vast? Where is the ship that brings His heart Toward her longing sight? Will playful winds reveal their part -- And sway the course of right? The Fate is thrifty and its gift It guards with watchful hand. Many a ship but aimless drift From rock to shifty sand. She walks along the moving shore And yearns her love to cast. Till day the ocean hides no more -- His heart upon the mast. CG |

I'll be the first to post a reply. I love images of the sea in poetry. If you think about it, most of the greatest poets wrote in some way or another about its vastness(I hope that's a word). I think your poem is great. |
