tonight I heard silence again, I walked my dogs and it was then,
in the darkest dark of night, nature had polished all stars so bright,
that I stood still in open land, dimmed the flashlight in my hand,
even the dogs I didn't hear, a moment that I hold most dear,
when nature plays it's symphony, sometimes I think only for me,

The Silence Rhapsody

tonight I heard her song again, I listened for a while and then,
a little bird was joining in and I got goosepimples on my skin,
so pure a sound was seldom heard, a duet between silence and a bird,
I stood frozen to the ground, this place to live that I have found,
I wouldn't know where else to be, when nature plays it's symphony,

The Silence Rhapsody

Beautiful poem.
Graphic expressions, I felt as if I was there myself.
I especially love the line, "nature had polished all the stars so bright."
You have my vote, I hope it gets you a page.

Nicely written.  Lots of real, tangible imagery... a real treat.  Nature's symphony is indeed something worthy of poetry.

Thank you so much my friends.

Yesterdaynight it was the same again, total silence, a full moon, stars shining, but alas no bird sang a duet.

I am smiling, Titia, at your oneness with nature. THis poem is so beautifully written.

"in the darkest dark of night
nature had polished all stars so bright"

(My favorite line)
You have projected through your words that special moment befor the full orchestra begins, a moment of silence so calming, that even a dog wouldn't interupt its peace

Very lovely theme..

I love this poem!!! (Voting) This is a poem in which I can relate.... and it seems so personal to you as you stop walking your dogs and turn off your flashlight as you stand in the silence looking straight up at the stars away from the hustle and bustle of the city lights.  Oh, the beauty of the sweet sweet rhapsody of silence. Again, I love the image that your poem left with me.  Thank you.

Titia darling heart and painter of a soul’s inner beauty once more your writing is simply stunning. Your ability to speak with words dipped in poet’s translucent thought is so beautifully displayed here. Always you uncover the thought, and shading it in the perfect hue you frame it and then hang it high for us all to see.

I love this one darling heart, it is as smooth as silk which slips over my mind like a cloak of wonder. Truly you are excellent and I love it utterly

If this isn’t included it will be a travesty A resounding YES vote
