~*Raindrops Of Remember*~

Parched lips so often thirsting for your kiss
Recall a time entangled in such bliss
This arid heart sustained with reminisce
Once filled with love now lost in vast abyss

Though oceans of our hearts we've sailed before
No longer will we reach love's peaceful shore
The captain of my humble ship no more
I lived for nothing more than your adore

We crossed the bridge of love and paid the toll
Now memories are all that will console
Such desolation reigns within my soul
I pray the rains will come and make me whole

Now here I stand, heart cleansed of all regret
These raindrops of remember ne'er forget

~vlraynes

A beautiful sonnet, Vicky! I really enjoyed reading this.. I love the clensing power of rain, although it's flooding here! :P
But anyway.. you have my vote. I hope (If my poem gets in!) that ours will be side by side, my friend!

Girl, I gotta read more of your stuff, because this just blew me away.  This is the best poem that I've read from you, very flowing, very touching... you took this format and just made it yours.  Like the poem doesn't fit the format... rather, the format fits the poem.

Just how sonnet should be.  It's nice to see so many submissions of this format, I think yours is amongst the better ones and this is why I'm giving you my vote.
