As I travelled through life’s wilderness,

I sprinkled crumbs of emotion,

A simple reminder that I was human,

Terrified of letting go of the past.

Glancing nervously over my shoulder,

I notice my conquered path was inter-weaved and clustered.

Unbeknown to me,

A battlefield had been pitched, waged and won.

An army of wasted opportunities stood tall,

Saluting me, Teasing me, Torturing me.

Flanked to the right their was illuminating lust,

I always did like colours.

In the darkest trenches, Volcanic wrath spared none,

Regret  was battered into oblivion.

Boastful pride and discontented envy raged,

The Public Relations machine now knew no boundaries.

Unreasonable greed,

Had left generosity bashed and bloodied.

Along for the ride was gluttony,

Who thought - what harm could one more do.

Across the divide was salvation.

Pure and simple salvation.

For though the path was long and arduous,

Goodness and the sense of Right never left the track.

Bright beacons of hope merged from under the shadows,

Forming an alliance with unquestionable faith.

Seeking a warm eternal embrace,

Love came, saw and conquered all.
