Be the answer by my bedside when needed most of all Be the book that holds the words of wise men and recall Have the verse that sooths the soul, when from my time I hide Let in you all truth and right and peacefulness reside Will you guide my fingers to the line that tells me so? That shows the path to what is right and how the right will grow Will the words all speak to me with voice of peace and truth Relieve me of my worries and ignite some hidden youth Be the book, the masterpiece that all would wish to own Filled with life and secrets that can spare me from alone Be the treasure that I found where none had thought to look Upon its shelf of destiny, my little poets book [This message has been edited by Rick (04-21-2003 06:16 AM).] |

Well... I loved the way you spread this poem out... smooth as warm butter off the knife. And I had to re read it after I came to the last line because it was not what I was expecting it to be. At first glance, I thought you were talking about the Bible, but then when I read it again with the last line in mind, it all made sense. I used to keep a pad of paper on my nightstand. I used to get rhymes the porportion of the novels pouring through my head, some when I was sleeping, and some barely awake, none made it in their entirety onto paper..... sadly. Voting for this one. I think every one here in Pip has been there once or twice.. I think this would make a fine addition to the book. Sherry Cherish the good memories of the past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow. But above all... be kind to yourself today. |

Dear Sunshine, nice to see you smiling, always lovely to get a reply from you, thank you. SPIRIT, what a lovely complement you give me tonight, I hope you can always find my work as worthwhile, thank you very much. Mystic Mystron, what a wonderful word to share with me, thank you for the reply and vote. Sherry, at first I was thinking of the Bible, so really it is great that you came to that way of thinking, but then the thought of a old book filled with poems of different poets came to mind and made its way to my poem. Different poets, ideas and thoughts, can give one freedom of mind and inspirations to explore, I love an old book of poetry, if only just to have it there. Thanks for you great reply, very much appreciated. Thank you to you all. Sincerely Rick |

Rick - Your work flows very well and I enjoy the style of your writing. Also it is very personal the way good poetry should be. A well deserved vote .. This poetic masterpiece of yours, Dear Rick, shall itself stand the test of time--especially if it finds its way between the covers of Reflections! Lovin' hugs, EA |

Rick I would have to say this poem is my favorite of yours and I had to come back and read it again. I hope you dont mind the "bump". It would be a priveledge to see your work in the book beside one of my poems. Again, very nice. Tim, thanx for the bump up, it would be great if we all could have a poem that shares the same book cover, I think that everyone in passions has a good chance. Your comments are much appreciated and heart felt, again thank you. Sincerely Rick |
