I've taken the cross right
off of the trees.
You say you want someone I
know that it's me.

Everything looks ordered in
your tiny world.
The kids are with mommy.
Your story's unfurled.

People like to talk about
people who talk about people
who like to talk.

Imagine all the people who
walk by all the people who
hate to walk.

I'v taken the guts right
out of the fish.
I know that you're hungry
so pull up a dish.

Things seem convenient almost
everywhere.
The kids home in bed.
Who says "life aint fair."

Some people say they look like
hell in the morning but
look like hell for most of the
day.

Imagine all the people who
imagine someone gives a damn
anyway.

I've taken desire right out
of the bed.
You say you're on fire so
lay down your head.

When the drug of sleep falls
on his face.
How can there not be a cup
for the race.

So let those people who talk
about people who like to talk,
talk.

And forget all the people who
stalk the people who never
stalk.

You take the night right
out of the song.
I honor light and it won't
be long.

When that old-fashioned home
is built on the rock.
No conflict in glory.
No scattering flock.

'I know that you're hungry, so pull up a dish'....I love this poem, and it has so many great thoughts, all put together in a way that keeps your eyes moving, and your head thinking!! Looks like you are new here, so let me say my 'Welcome to Passions'\!!

(big hugggsssssss) Yes, this is so very true and we must never judge a book by its cover and respect everyones time when one wishes to speak even if it may not be agreeable! (sad sigh) Sadly so many citizens are being denied recently, I hope this changes, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

(Smiles) I do think that you've captured many aspects of human nature very well here with your words and I also believe and have hope and faith that the promises that your poem mentions at the end will certainly come true. Good job.
