"He's in the hospital" Nothing. I'm still numb. It didn't even really register. Shock or denial, either was okay. The coldness of not feeling... There was nothing Nothing at all. When I heard they rushed you to surgery, I felt. The pain was unbearable; I nearly choked on my own emotions. So I became numb... Again. It was easier for me. And when I see you I'm going to hold you close to me. I'm going to softly kiss you. I'm going to look into your eyes and whisper, "I love you" And then... That is when I will cry. |

Skyfire, my husband had major surgery in 1991. I will never forget that feeling of numbness that you speak about. I couldn't feel anything. I didn't dare, for fear I would just crumble, and then be of no use to him at a time when he needed me most. You will feel it when it's over, then watch out for the deluge of tears. I think it is the mind and body's way of protecting itself, this feeling of numbness. A very poignant write. |

very sweet...I wrote about crystal tears once..someone inspired me on here. *s Crystal Tears I hide my heart, tamed for you but below the surface I need to love you the way I know how, unconditionally. Disappointments, fallen sensations I shall let it all flow in crystal, spilling, these raindrops of my soul. Walking alone, tasting tears from an opportunity missed needing to be who I choose to be. Could you ever see things my way? ~A~ |

Thank you for your replies. My Will is due home soon if all goes well (ie if he can keep himself out of trouble lol), and he can't come home soon enough in my opinion. *grins and twirls* Sometimes you find a friend where once there wasn't one. *BUGS* I love the poem, and I'm happy for you... but you know that. Kielo I know only one thing, and that thing is that I know nothing. |

Rhonda, I had a very close friend in the hospital last year and knowing they were in the hospital and couldn't get there to comfort them was really hard. Maybe this poem also describes to me how my family has felt the many times they have seen me in the hospital or going through surgery. I really enjoyed this. Gave me much to think about. Dawn |

Thank you all so much. I wasn't sure how well this one would go over, but I'm glad that I listened to myself and posted it. Thank you again! If I love you enough will you feel it over the distance? |

Lots of love in this one..that last line - the giving-in to the tears that are eventual, and inevitable - that part gave me chills... Hope your honey is doing well.. hugs, g "laughter is the shortest distance between two people" - victor borge |
