"FOREWORD TO DEATH"
    BY ABORTION

This child was to be the most beautiful thing
That the world was to ever see
So many plans were in store for this life
A cure for aids, a helping hand
Listening ears for a life unable to turn around

But that's all in the past now
That is all left behind
Why was this life created?
It was long before its time
Just one quick ride across the town
As the day became night
A night of fun, just a one night stand
Wouldn't see each other again...
No repercussions of this night gone wrong
That all changed that day she cried
She found out that she holds the future
To a life that is not her own
That never should have happened

Never heard from the lover
Figured he'd left as soon as he heard the news
Who would have thought at just sixteen
She would have to make a decision
On something that she would never even dream

So take that cure for aids
Another helping hand
Ears to listen to a life going down the drain
Thrown on the ground
Like a lit cigar
Stomped on, sent into oblivion
Never to be found
Only left to regret
And not able to be redone

Touching subject as well as 'touchey' Many years ago, my sister, then a nurse, working in emergency had a girl in who had tried to abort herself with a coat-hanger, she died. If abortion had been an option back then maybe she would still be alive today, with children and grandchildren. Sad state of affairs either way.

(big hugggsssssss) Considering this is a more Open forum and abortion is such a sensitive issue, I won't express my whole opinion, but what I can say is this is an excellent write that must be read by everyone in awareness of this serious issue and I most graciously offer you my vote! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, my prayers are with all the patients who face this decision, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I think you took an issue that needs more awareness and presented it in a perfect light, well done indeed.

no one seems to know just what they have to go through until it's too late.

Then theres all the post tramatic stress and emotional attachments are shattered.

Yes, it's a very painful subject, but one that needs to be addressed and dealt with. You have my vote, because this is an excellent write.

This poem has a message that needs to be heard, great job writing it here.

A very touchy subject, but certainly one that needs to spoken of more often.  This gets my vote.  Very good writing, by the way.

I too had an "unwanted" pregnancy. I am glad I saw it through. My son is now 12 soon to be a teenager, and he is the light of my life.  This world would indeed be a much darker place without his presence in it.You'll never know what you're giving up when you give up on life.... any life.
