Even Love Dies

Even love dies, he sadly said to me
And he bowed his head in misery
No I said that’s where you’re wrong
Love is eternal it’s hope’s own song
The sun can die, the earth fall to dust
All that you know might turn to rust
The universe may reel and then fall away
But love lives on forever and a day

All truth is dead he uttered softly
And then he mumbled again, I’m sorry
No, I said you’re wrong yet again
Truth shines it clears away pain
You’ve lost your hope that’s all I said
Despair no more for truth can’t be dead
If it wasn’t for truth where would we be
Trapped in a place of insanity

I can’t have hope he sighed at last
And then he said not with my past
No, listen you don’t understand
Love bring forgiveness in its hand
Hope for a future look up and smile
There in pure love rest for awhile
Hear me love will always rise anew
And hope and truth will always find you

Don’t fear that love dies, it never will
And hope and truth will your dreams fulfil

Marsha

Tomorrow is another day I don't know what it holds

(sigh) Oh Marsha, you are right, love NEVER dies, sometimes it may come undone and be tarnished, but love heals and love consoles and love hopes and understands all things and will make its course once more if a heart is broken! (big hugggssssss) I am happy you got this back up so I can vote again, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Marsha, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Well, it makes me sniff a bit, but I guess you don't mind. We all know I'm hard as nails til you get to me. Sigh. It's quite lovely, actually, but you didn't hear that from me.

Voting again, not because I can, for suthern already kicked it, which is better than kicking the bucket - but because I want to.

I enjoyed reading aloud this elegant and attractively structured poem about the eternal nature of truth, love and hope. It has a seductive, flowing rhythm and a melodic feel that are compatible with the theme. It certainly deserves to take its place in the anthology.
