Immortal Light

Almost, almost, my light with yours went dark;
My spirit comatose, could it still live?
God pitied me. He touched and found a spark;
He showed me I had yet a bit to give.
Reluctantly, I stirred and took his hand;
He gently lifted me to firmer ground.
With his sure help I found a way to stand,
To set you free, your spirit homeward bound.

I tried to keep you here by force of will;
But God had plans which were no part of mine.
Your light is strong enough to linger still;
God's breath has given it immortal shine.
Each night I search the Heavens for new star
He promised he would show me from afar.

The box has been checked for great sentimental value. Evidenced here it is that God has blessed you with much much more to give... I believe, as you have expressed, that we will truly shine as the stars one day. (Amen)  Keep your eyes and heart open and it will be as you have written this I am certain.  A beautiful write and a wonderful way to remember your loved one. God Bless.

Joyce:  A wonderful poem and I'm sure your husband would be proud of you and what you have accomplished, in his absence.  Your family must also feel that same pride. I am voting for this one.

Time is of the essence (and Time is God) and so His Light is immortal and time is immortal, therefore the stars will radiate with His promise! I must be going now but wished to commend you for this marvelous prayer!

The body of this reverent and poignant poem of faith, hope and love certainly lives up to the promise of its title! You have created a beacon for those who have suffered the loss of loved ones and an inspiration to the rest.
