As lonely as the seed of war
Awaiting heart of sin
Is now this mortal wanting more
Within this world I’m in
The innocents are pawns in play
What sin or grace will come our way?

Hello I say among my friends
And people who walk by
So happily, one so pretends
Till innocents do die
The words of peace do fall to short
With much regret our words mean naught

All born to world from seed of life
All blessed to share in time
To peace why would some turn the knife?
To hurt the yours and mine
Evil finds the bad in men
While we all pray, then say amen

“May war not raise its head to be, may all on earth live onward free”

amen

(big hugggssssss) Worse yet, while there is evil in some men, there are so many men who don't like it yet are nothing but silent and then that makes hypocrites too, and that can be far more toughter to deal with! (sad sigh) I pray for peace ever so much too and whenever there's something that is non-violent in protesting against war, I always try and jump on the bandwagon! (sad sigh) Here's hoping the Dove of Peace can soon make amends for us all, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Rick, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Powerful writing,Rick,...and,unfortunatly,
all too true. But truth needs to be written and seen, and you have eloquently captured many truisms in regards to this sad state of war.You have my vote, sir.

Current events should definitely find their place in the book."Signs Of The Times" by the poet's hand.

Mysteria, thanks for the vote and finding this poem again, very much appreciated.

Geoffrey, thanks for the vote, you are right, all these things need to be written about and somehow recorded, they are the feelings of many to be held onto by history.
Your comments are much appreciated.

I was a soldier 8 years. My last MOS was medic, and I had seen some of the ugliness that so many call the romance of war.

Finally I walked into my CO's office, with scorn from my "buddies" and told him I wanted out. That I wouldn't go to some other country and start killing people because their leader pissed off my leader.

He tried talking me out of it, then, seeing my eyes, saluted me and honored my request.

The American military is made up of hateful and beautiful people, alike...young men wanting money for college, or poor petty criminals, that have no idea the crimes of their leaders.

don't get me started.

thank you for writing your poem. someday all of us will wake in the morning and look forward to the day.
Amen
